Digital Assets Program

Since 2025, the Program on International Financial Systems (PIFS) has worked with Harvard Law School Executive Education (HLSEE) and the Harvard Kennedy School’s Digital Assets Policy Project (DAPP) to arrange an annual four-day executive education program on “The Evolving Role of Digital Assets in the Global Financial System” at Harvard.

The program is led by Professors Howell Jackson and Hal Scott (of Harvard Law School) and Timothy Massad (Director of the Digital Asset Policy Project).  It also includes computer scientist Tim Roughgarden (of Columbia University), current and former public officials such as Richard Gabbert (of the SEC’s Crypto Task Force) and William Hinman (formerly of the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance), and representatives of major market participants. Participants include approximately seventy financial regulators, supervisors, policymakers, and executives from the United States and abroad.

The first Annual Digital Assets Program took place in June 2025, the second took place in April 2026, and the third will take place in 2027.
